Schultz fire update

I know the Schultz fire has been out for a month, but the after affects are still going on. Since the fire, we have had a significant amount of rain in northern Arizona. There have been some major flooding events in the past couple of weeks and the rain keeps coming. Crews are now busy building channels for runoff and the County is urging families to make evacuation plans in the area where that fire was. There is a lot of home and road damage for those living in those flooded areas. Yesterday, monsoon rains hit so hard, there were road closures all over town from flash flooding. I was stuck in traffic for over an hour and a half, to go 2 miles, I saw a small car in water up to its windows. The water has receded today to some degree, most roads are back open. As I write this, it is still raining, though not as hard at the moment.

Thursday morning my husbands radio alarm kept going off and in my sleep I kept getting little bits of news about Arizona that morphed into some really strange dreams. I was convinced the "massive flooding" part was just a dream, but wow! Be safe.
